Presidents report 2012
Chow Chow of NewZealand
The club is I believe is in reasonably shape considering the current
economic climate. I would like to take opportunity to acknowledge and
welcome our two new officers who were elected at the last AGM your club
secretary Margie Delaney and your treasure Tim Delaney from Danniverke.
Our championship (Blackie Harland memorial show) was held at Taupo
obedience club grounds in conjunction with TKC. While there were some
procedural omissions the show went a head as planned thanks to Tim’s
good negotiating skills (Thanks Tim). Then the weather took over and
started to rain as the show began and came to an end just as the show
was finishing. Big thanks to our judge who persevered with the weather.
Well done Reuben who took out best in show and reserve in show. Our
little after show function was enjoyed by all including the Great Dane
Club of whom Blackie was avid supporter of. Thanks to Hazel for the
lovely cake she baked and then was unable to attend due to sudden
illness it was enjoyed by all. As always there is a lot behind the
scenes work that gets done to enable the show to ahead successfully a
special thanks to Ngaire and Ellen for their efforts and everybody else
who contribute towards the show. Please keep in mind that this is our
40th anniversary coming up this year (2013) so looking forward to a good
entry and behind the scenes support from the committee.
The club finances are managing to hold there own however if the club is
to continue in its present form source revenue will have to found. I
would like to take this opportunity to welcome the new members may your
association with club continue to be enjoyable. As always we need to
keep a close eye on expenditure so any donations or forms of generating
income and therefore any ideas on that front would be greatly
The web site has been very successful, I make this statement based on
the fact that during the year a audit was carried out and non members
were removed, the result from the number of complaints was an indication
of just how much the web site assists breeders in particular to make
contact with potential buyers it also provides a good forum for contact
to be made with breeders. With this in mind I believe a SMALL annual
charge could be made to have and maintain an advert on the site. Topic
for AGM agenda I believe.
The AGM is to be held on Saturday the 16th of march at the Taupo
obedience club grounds (old kennel club grounds) starting at 1100
o’clock and as per the rules all offices and committee are required to
stand down however they may stand re-election subject to there consent.
Chow for now
We all would like to wish
Eileen Hallett a very Happy 80th Birthday!
& John for their 60th anniversary. Happy Birthday Red also!
